Job Description
We are looking for an experienced CNC Mill and/or CNC Lathe Machinist to join an industrial manufacturing operation in Conroe, TX. The Machinist will set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision components used in industrial and oilfield applications.
The ideal candidate has experience with CNC machine setup and operation, blueprint reading, CNC programming or editing, tooling, offsets, and precision measuring equipment. Candidates should be dependable, safety-minded, and able to produce quality parts while working within required tolerances.
Job Duties
- Set up and operate CNC mills and/or CNC lathes.
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Load and secure materials and work pieces into machines.
- Set tool and work offsets.
- Install and adjust cutting tools and tooling.
- Read and make basic edits to CNC programs.
- Adjust speeds, feeds, and machine settings as needed.
- Perform milling, turning, drilling, boring, tapping, threading, and other machining operations.
- Monitor machines and tooling during production.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
- Check dimensions and tolerances to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Make machine adjustments to maintain part quality and accuracy.
- Identify tooling, machine, and dimensional problems.
- Perform deburring and basic finishing of machined parts.
- Complete production and inspection paperwork.
- Follow quality and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Safely handle materials and components as required.
- Report equipment problems or maintenance needs.
- Meet production, quality, and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous CNC Mill and/or CNC Lathe experience.
- CNC machine setup and operating experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of G-code and M-code.
- Experience setting tool and work offsets.
- Experience using precision measuring tools.
- Ability to work with tight tolerances.
- Basic understanding of shop math.
- CNC programming or program-editing experience preferred.
- Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, machine shop, or oilfield environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to safely work around industrial machinery and equipment
