Purpose and Scope

The Coordinator III, Outreach and Communications provides oversight and facilitation of day‑to‑day and long‑term operations within the Department of Outreach and Communication. The role leads and plans the development, evaluation, and improvement of outreach and communication activities, representing the department through written, print, and digital media to promote internal and external awareness of projects and publications.

Essential Job Functions
  • Write communications such as publications, newsletters, and mass email distributions for the LSC community.
  • Maintain the department’s website, ensuring it is updated with the most recent information.
  • Act as social media coordinator to promote the department’s presence online.
  • Conduct research on outreach and communication best practices and develop presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop evaluation methods for initiatives, analyze results, and recommend revisions to objectives and strategies, contributing to continuous program improvement and new program development.
  • Record, track, and maintain a variety of data, documents, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Coordinate and manage the department’s internal and external calendars, scheduling meetings, seminars, events, site selection, marketing materials, and general support.
  • Monitor and control marketing resources, submit requisitions, review, and approve or deny purchase requests in accordance with the budget.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations within the department.
  • Manage or assist with the marketing and outreach budget.
  • Participate in or lead special projects as needed.
  • Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Strong attention to accuracy and detail.
    • Excellent knowledge of general office and software applications.
    • Ability to prepare and analyze reports.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Strong multitasking abilities with the ability to prioritize duties.
    • High level of customer service.
    • Effective communication, both oral and written.
    • Experience in editing, social media, and e‑communications.
    Physical Abilities

    The work is sedentary, primarily involving sitting. Occasional walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items such as papers, books, or small parts may be required, and occasional automobile driving. No special physical demands are required.

    Work Schedule & Conditions
    • PC workstation with LAN, Windows environment, calculator, phone, and general office equipment.
    • Internal and external contacts as needed to perform job functions.
    • Work performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience in video production.
    • Experience in graphic design.
    Salary

    Hiring salary range is $48,152 to $55,375 annually.
