Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position will support the Conroe, Texas location. This position is Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no call. Convenitely located near I-45, SH 105, and Grand Parkway (SH 99), TxO - Conroe offers easy access for patients across Montgomery County. The center provides advanced treatments like radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and clinical trials, all backed by a statewide network.

Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, developmental and age-specific differences in the patient population. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient/family needs. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess health status by interviewing the patient regarding current status and medical history.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional materials.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
- Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy line and record information in the patient chart.
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.
- Triages patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient’s chart.
- Facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care.
- Assist patients in locating available community resources.
- Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:
Education/Training- Level I – Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
- RN license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must maintain continuing education requirements.
- Entry level – 0-3 years nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Level II – Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Level Senior – In addition to Levels I and II: minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred; oncology certification preferred.
