Position Summary:

Under the Nurse Manager's supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care according to nursing laws.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure duties are within the scope of the state nursing practice act.
• Know patients' histories, progress, and treatment goals.
• Make appropriate nursing decisions.
• Follow medication policies and procedures.
• Operate and troubleshoot equipment.
• Complete documentation promptly.
• Fulfill telephone orders per policies.
• Reassess patients and report trends.
• Perform basic drug calculations.
• Participate in rounds as appropriate.
• Accept patient assignments from Charge Nurse or Director.
• Coordinate care with clinical departments and oversee LSA care.
• Document patient weights as ordered.
• Attend seminars and pursue professional growth.
• Participate in new employee orientation.
• Recognize patient status changes and intervene.
• Know RN role in emergencies and arrests.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Licensed RN in the state of practice.
• Preferred 2+ years in a Rehab setting.
• Maintain current RN licensure.
• Certified Rehab Nurse preferred.
• CPR/BLS certified.
• Complete behavioral management training within 30 days of hire.
