Position: Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) - Conroe, Tx

Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Conroe, Texas. This position will support the Conroe, Texas location and is Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no call. The role may be level I, II or Senior based on candidate experience. Conveniently located near I-45, SH 105, and Grand Parkway (SH 99), TxO – Conroe offers easy access for patients across Montgomery County.

What

the Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) does

Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental differences in the patient population across all age groups. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and therapeutically manage patient/family needs and supports the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
    • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
    • Administer all medications blood products using correct medication, dosage, route, time and technique.
    • Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
    • Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems and symptom management.
    • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central line catheter devices.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
    • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience.

Education & Training

Graduate from an accredited professional nursing education program – BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must maintain continuing education requirements.

Level I
  • 0‑3 years nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
Level II
  • Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
Level Senior
  • Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred.
  • Oncology certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
