• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.
• Assesses the patient and plans care within set time frames and documents findings according to policies.
• Oversees and supervises the shift.
• Demonstrates leadership through duties that may include delegating tasks such as group observation, meal supervision, etc.
• Ensures nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered.
• Monitors patient for change of condition and responds accordingly, up to and including notifying the physician.
• Follows hospital policy for medication administration.
• Consistently uses empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients.
• Delivers quality nursing care to ensure that goals of the treatment plan are properly executed following hospital policies and procedures and demonstrated nursing competencies.

• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse license required by state regulations.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in a psychiatric health care facility.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
• De‑escalation certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
• Preferred:
  Previous experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients.
• Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
