You will make an impact by utilising your specialised plan‑of‑care interventions and serving as a patient‑care innovator. This position supports the needs of the department with a focus on clinical, operational, and administrative excellence.

• Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient.
• Perform timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Be responsible for the completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.
• Assess patients and plan care within set time frames, documenting findings according to policies.
• Oversee and supervise the shift, delegating tasks such as group observation, meal supervision, etc.
• Supervise staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered by self and all members of the team.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond accordingly, including notification of the physician.
• Follow hospital policy for medication administration.
• Consistently use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients.
• Deliver quality nursing care to ensure that the goals of the treatment plan are properly executed following hospital policies and procedures and demonstrated nursing competencies.

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Associate’s degree in nursing required.
• Current Registered Nurse licence as required by state regulations in which the facility operates.
• 1‑year experience in a psychiatric health‑care facility preferred.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
• De‑escalation certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
• Previous experience in a psychiatric health‑care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
• Experience in patient assessments, family motivation, treatment planning and communication with external review organisations or comparable entities.
