Job Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Assessments and Referrals, the Intake Nurse (RN) screens patient admissions and communicates information to physicians to determine if patients meet the level of care. The role works closely with the nursing department, clinical staff, and Intake department to ensure timely admission of patients. The Intake Nurse also contributes to department meetings, quality initiatives, and maintains services within TJC requirements.

• Registered Nurse required.
• Licensed in the state where the hospital resides.
• BLS required.
• Crisis management certification per hospital policy and standards required.

• Understanding of behavioral healthcare and the freestanding industry.
• Experience in interviewing, assessments, patient-family centered care, and requirements for admission based on established hospital criteria.
• 2–3 years of experience in admissions preferred.
