Description:
The unit has 30 physical beds and 8 hall beds. The nursing staff consists of 77 members. On the day shift, there are multiple roles with varying numbers of RNs, CN, and other support staff. On the night shift, there is a consistent team structure. Patient ratios are 1:4. Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps, GE Monitors, Ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, Belmont Rapid Infusers, portable EKG machines, and EMR systems.
Common procedures performed in this department include NIH assessments, IV and blood draws, moderate sedation, and cardiac monitoring. The ideal candidate should be a team player. Floating to other areas is not required. The dress code is royal blue scrubs. Staff are expected to work every other weekend.
