QA/QC Manager

Oleon is looking for a QA/QC Manager to join its team in Conroe, Texas. We bring natural chemistry, converting natural fats and oils into a wide range of oleo chemical products. With over 1,000 employees in 10 countries, we value ambitious, earth‑tough people who thrive in their element.
Some of your main duties & responsibilities:- Align current operations with corporate quality strategy for blending and esterification processes.
- Lead, mentor and develop the QA/QC team by setting performance expectations and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to integrate quality controls into operational workflows for efficiency.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with industry certifications (ISO 9001, FM) and oversee internal and external audits.
- Develop and monitor quality standards for blending and esterification processes used in lubricant production across multiple markets.
- Conduct regular sampling, testing, and analysis of products at various stages to verify compliance with industry standards (ASTM, API).
- Implement control checks to monitor process parameters (temperature, mixing speeds, ingredient ratios) to ensure quality consistency and compliance with specifications.
- Adhere to and promote compliance with all HSE procedures, regulations, and standards applicable to blending and esterification processes.
- Participate in risk assessments specific to blending and esterification and implement corrective actions to enhance safety.
- Propose solutions and facilitate follow‑up actions, ensuring effective internal communication with stakeholders and documenting resolution measures in compliance with Oleon’s quality standards.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of best practices, technological advances, and regulatory standards specific to blending and esterification in oil, gas, and lubricant production.
- Share expertise and insights with colleagues to foster a culture of quality and compliance within Oleon.
- Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventative Actions based on RCA outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
- Perform administrative tasks including management of SAP, LIMS, creation of instructions, stock management, and ordering laboratory materials.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in quality management, chemical engineering, or process management are a plus. - Experience:
3+ years in a supervisory QA/QC role. - Proficiency with quality management systems such as ISO 9001, ASTM, and API standards.
- Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and safety protocols.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
