Position Overview

The Manager in Training (MIT) works with store manager and store teams in achieving sales goals, driving a customer focused environment, managing talent and performance, and executing visual standards. The MIT participates in a training program to prepare them for a store manager position within 3‑6 months. The MIT is hired with the expectation that they are relocatable to a specific new store or a group of new and existing stores.

The MIT will complete the training program that prepares them for a Store Manager Position  MIT must actively participate in all training modules and activities while also fulfilling a managerial role on the team.

Responsibilities
  • Customer Obsession:
    Drive a customer focused store environment, demonstrating fashion expertise, product knowledge, and awareness of customer needs.
  • Drive Sales:
    Manage sales goals by analyzing store performance, adjusting plans and priorities to achieve targets.
  • Team Management:
    Support the performance of the store team, manage payroll hours, prepare schedules, and use sales programs and community outreach.
  • Visual and Operative Excellence:
    Assess visual needs, implement promotional changes, maintain operational soundness, minimize inventory loss, and enforce company policies.
  • Talent Management:
    Make hiring decisions, develop successors, give actionable feedback, coach associates, and cultivate a rewarding working climate.
Requirements
  • High School Degree or GED (required). Business or retail merchandising degree preferred.
  • Supervisory experience in a customer focused environment; experience in fashion industry preferred.
  • Proven track record of achieving and setting goals and executing company direction.
  • Experience in hiring, promoting, and motivating talent.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to persevere in the face of resistance or setbacks.
  • Commitment to a specific store location or a group of stores.
Unique/Physical Requirements
  • Work varied hours/days as business demands.
  • Requests reach, push, pull, stand, squat and bend for up to 8 hours or longer as necessary.
  • Operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store, including computerized register system.
  • Move or handle merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Relocate to store 1836 – Outlet at Conroe, maurices, Conroe, TX 77303.
