Sales Associate

Purpose of Job

The Sales Associate provides fast and friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. This role maintains the condition of the sales floor, ensuring it is clean and shoppable.

• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Greet every customer with a positive attitude & smile.
• Engage customers to understand their needs using open-ended questions.
• Maintain strong product knowledge to confidently assist and advise customers.
• Promote special offers, and current sales to enhance the customer experience.
• Explain product features and benefits in a clear and helpful way.
• Drive sales by recommending “good, better, best” options and related add-on items.
• Meet or exceed individual sales goals and performance expectations.
• Accurately process transactions and handle cash and card payments via a Point of Sale System.
• Assist with inventory tasks, including receiving, stocking, and organizing merchandise.
• Keep the store clean, well-stocked, and easy to shop.
• Perform basic battery testing and installation, including automotive batteries.
• Complete local deliveries using a company vehicle, as needed.
• Follow/fulfill all driver program requirements, as specified by the manager.
• Work in a team-oriented environment with individual performance expectations.

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail or customer service experience (preferred but not required).
• Previous delivery driving experience is preferred.
• Must have a clean driver's record AND meet driver qualifications requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic math skills and comfort handling cash transactions.
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment criminal background check.

• Interacts professionally with fellow Team Members.
• Operate with integrity and demonstrate a positive attitude.
• Position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and lifting.
• Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Work involves some irregularities and difficulties with repetitive and varied tasks.
• Primarily retail store setting, however frequently exposed to dirt, dust, fumes, temperature extremes, dampness and battery acid as is normal to warehouse environment.
• Stress associated with workplace pressure and the retail environment.
• Exposed to the hazards of the road when operating or riding in a vehicle.
