Job DescriptionThe Sales Manager is an entry-level position within the Sales department. The Sales Manager handles special accounts or a specific role that will carry a quota and is bonus-eligible. The Sales Manager typically handles less complex accounts, develops new leads through prospecting, and researches new business potential. Must be proficient with computers. Communication and organization skills are of the utmost importance.
EssentialJob Functions
- Responsible for growing new group and events revenues in all segments, including but not limited to SMERF, Association, Corporate, and Social Wedding Blocks. Small group bookings with and without meeting space and catering. Bookings will have a maximum of 30 room nights on peak. (This number may be adjusted at any time and may be flexed due to lead volume and as the needs of the hotel change).
- Prepare and present effective proposals, estimates, and contracts to secure new business at the Hotel.
- Maintain well‑organized documentation in Envision Sales, utilize all Hyatt systems, and coordinate customer service requirements as appropriate.
- Conduct sales presentations, site inspections, prospecting calls, outside sales calls, client entertainment, and business travel within the continental US. This may include weekend and overnight travel.
- Grow and maintain business relationships with existing clients and cultivate and develop new business relationships.
- Communicating client requirements in a timely and accurate manner to all internal departments as required, ensuring delivery of superior guest service.
- Use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy both internal and external customer requirements.
- Participating in both local and out‑of‑town industry events, trade shows, conventions, and promotional events to identify new opportunities to grow business revenue.
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment.
- Refined verbal and written communication skills.
- Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training program or equivalent training.
- Prefer 1‑2 years of previous hotel experience.
