Legal/ Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist
The Legal/MH Rehabilitation Specialist provides case management and legal rehabilitative services for clients in the Outpatient Competency Restoration Program. This position's duties will include the following:
- Provide and coordinate Outpatient Competency Restoration Continuity of Care Services
- Perform assessment and treatment planning
- Plan and provide discharge planning and services
- Maintain continuous working contact with jail staff, court officials, bond supervisors, and supporting service staffs
- Assists in restoring individuals to legal competency through teaching basic legal terms, concepts and procedures
- In and out of region travel required

- Requires Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science Field.
- Must qualify as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) under Texas Administrative Code (TAC) credentialing requirement (Rule §353.1415)

- Clear criminal record validated by a TDCJ NCIC check prior to beginning work and annually.
- Ability to pass computer literacy testing.
- Background Experience with the Criminal Justice System preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English Fluency) paid at a higher rate.

robbery, aggravated robbery, conviction under the laws of another state, federal law, or the Uniform Code of Military Justice for an offense containing elements that are substantially similar to the elements of an offense listed above, felony conviction for theft which occurred in the previous five (5) years, indecent exposure, improper relationship between educator and student, improper photography or visual reporting, deadly conduct, aggravated sexual assault, terroristic threat;
online solicitation of a minor, money laundering, Medicaid fraud, Medicare fraud, cruelty to animals, false identification as a peace officer, disorderly conduct, and discharges of a firearm in a public place other than a public road or a sport shooting range, as defined by Section 250.001, Local Government Code.
