Part-Time Administrative Intern

THIS POSITION WILL BE ASSIGNED TO THE CITY OF CONROE POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Police Department Administrative Intern will be a qualified undergraduate or graduate student in criminal justice, psychology, or related field with an interest in police work, criminal investigations, or the criminal justice system. The intern will perform a variety of administrative or operational duties assigned by the police supervisor.

Education and Experience: Current college student with a graduation date in the upcoming year.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Motivated and has the ability to self-initiate work.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to calmly communicate with verbally aggressive and hostile individuals.
• Possess and demonstrate strong moral and ethical behavior.

The work is sedentary and requires the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: climbing, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
