POSITION TITLE:

White Fleet Service Technician-Maintenance

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), fluid changes, tire, and other minor repairs. Perform minor mechanical repairs as instructed by Fleet/Warehouse/Auction Coordinator. Assist mechanics and shop personnel with the maintenance of school white fleet and other district vehicles.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform routine vehicle maintenance according to established preventative maintenance schedules and procedures and keep accurate, up-to-date records.

Assist with repairs and general upkeep of all district vehicles, supporting the fleet mechanic with assigned duties and responsibilities.

Complete assigned work orders accurately and in a timely manner, reporting repair status and performance to the Fleet/Warehouse/Auction Coordinator.

Assist in the care, upkeep, and safe operation of all tools, equipment, and shop facilities.

Inspect the white fleet for safety concerns, correct unsafe conditions when possible, and immediately report non-correctable hazards to the supervisor.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment by following established safety procedures and techniques and helping keep the shop, equipment, and tools in proper operating condition.

Maintain confidentiality.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance practices

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• A valid Texas driver's license

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to perform general shop maintenance and mechanical repairs on fleet vehicles
• Ability to diagnose, analyze, and assist with fleet maintenance needs
• Knowledge of vehicle repair, maintenance practices, and fleet maintenance software
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
• Ability to obtain vehicle inspection certification
• Knowledge of general vehicle repairs and maintenance

• Ability to work effectively with others and complete tasks with minimal supervision
• Basic computer skills
