Mail Carrier/Driver/Print Shop

To provide accurate, timely delivery and pick-up of district mail and packages; maintain consistent route schedule and maintain a clean, serviced delivery vehicle.

• Deliver and pick-up of District mail and boxes of printed materials.
• Maintain a consistent, predetermined schedule of pick-up and delivery.
• Process U.S. mail and UPS packages.
• Sort U.S. and inter-campus mail.
• Fill and load inter-campus mail bags and boxes into van for next-day delivery.
• Assist in other mail-related duties when needed.
• Assist with occasional packaging when necessary.
• Maintain the delivery vehicle by cleaning the outside/inside and check gas, oil, and other fluids.
• Keep vehicle maintenance log to include mileage, oil changes, etc.
• Perform any additional tasks which are necessary to complete a job or that may be assigned to the department.
• Maintain confidentiality.

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Acceptable motor vehicle record

Education/Certification:

Light truck or van and hand truck

The following physical requirements and/or capabilities are what an employee needs to possess in order to meet the physical demands of the job:

• Walking - move about on foot
• Carrying - transporting an object by hand
• Crouching - bending the body downward and forward by bending the knees and spine
• Climbing - ascending and descending stairs
• Lifting - able to lift 50 - 60 pound boxes/objects
• Kneeling - bending legs at the knees to come to rest on the knees
• Pulling - exerting force upon an object so the object moves toward the force (includes jerking)
• Pushing - exerting force upon an object so the object moves away from the force
• Reaching - ability to extend hands and arms in any direction
• Bending - ability to move at the waist downward and upward with reasonable mobility

An employee may be required to perform any or all of the above listed physical requirements. These physical requirements may constitute 95% of the employee’s daily functions.

PAY GRADE: AUX - 3 - Minimum hourly rate - $16.00
