Special Education Teacher - Converse, TX

A rewarding opportunity awaits special education professionals eager to make an immediate impact in a Life Skills classroom setting near San Antonio. This contract assignment serves a small caseload of 9-12 students in either elementary (grades 1-4) or intermediate (grades 5-6). As the incoming educator, you'll provide dedicated instruction-supported by two paraprofessionals in each classroom-in an environment equipped to serve students with a variety of needs, including intellectual disabilities, autism, and speech impairments.

Qualifications:

• Active Special Education certification plus a content/generalist certificate
• Experience teaching in special education, with comfort adapting instruction to students with diverse needs
• Strong classroom management skills and a collaborative approach
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom for all learners
• Flexibility regarding schedule (start times vary by campus, either 7:00-3:00 or 7:30-3:30)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and modify curriculum for students with varying abilities
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and allied staff to maintain a positive, safe learning environment
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and required reporting
• Engage with families and multidisciplinary teams to support student success and well-being
• Participate in IEP meetings, implement behavioral interventions, and contribute to a welcoming classroom culture
