Qualifications:
- Valid General Education teaching license required
- Experience teaching students with dyslexia highly preferred
- Previous work in special education across various grade levels (elementary, middle, and high school)
- Proficiency in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to collaborate with faculty, families, and support staff
- Up-to-date knowledge of effective teaching strategies and accommodations for diverse learners
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Deliver engaging instruction to students with special needs, with a particular focus on supporting students with dyslexia
- Adapt curriculum as needed to meet the unique learning styles of each student
- Collaborate with general educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to implement IEPs and support student goals
- Utilize ongoing assessment and data to monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods
- Maintain accurate student records and provide regular updates on progress and outcomes
- Participate in professional development and staff meetings to stay current on best practices
