Job Overview
This position involves performing various manual labor tasks related to aerial telecommunications construction, working at heights, and supporting skilled technicians without the need for driving company vehicles.
Responsibilities- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial fiber optic and copper cable infrastructure.
- Climb utility poles and work from elevated platforms or buckets as required, following all safety protocols.
- Load, unload, and organize materials and equipment at job sites.
- Dig trenches, pull cable, and perform other ground-level duties to support aerial operations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper handling and disposal of waste materials.
- Follow directions from supervisors and more experienced technicians.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment as needed (non-driving related).
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as OSHA regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in telecommunications, construction, or a similar field is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs), stand, climb, stoop, and bend for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
