Job Overview
The CDL-Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating various commercial vehicles and heavy equipment to support Primoris Services Corporation's construction and infrastructure projects. This role involves transporting materials, equipment, and personnel to and from job sites, as well as performing various operational tasks as needed.
Job Responsibilities- Operates commercial vehicles with a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) in accordance with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Transports materials, such as aggregate, asphalt, dirt, and equipment, to and from construction sites.
- Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any deficiencies and ensuring they are in safe operating condition.
- Operates various heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, loaders, bulldozers, rollers) as required by project needs, demonstrating proficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintains accurate logbooks, mileage reports, and other required documentation.
- Assists with loading and unloading materials and equipment, utilizing proper lifting techniques and safety procedures.
- Communicates effectively with supervisors, dispatchers, and team members regarding project progress, material needs, and safety concerns.
- Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of vehicles and equipment.
- Adheres to all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
- May assist ground crew with manual labor tasks when not operating equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class A Commercial License.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating commercial vehicles.
- Proven experience operating various types of heavy equipment is highly preferred.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, and climbing.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and for extended periods.
- Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
