Location:

Compensation: $62,500 - $70,000 base salary

Employment Type:

Full-Time

About the Opportunity

Our organization is a well-established, growth-minded company built around delivering specialized, project-driven solutions to a loyal client base. We operate with the discipline of a client-services business - engagements are scoped, tracked, and billed - while also maintaining the stability and culture of a company that has been part of the Conway community for decades. We're continuing to expand, and that growth has created a newly added opening on our accounting team.

This is a great fit for someone who enjoys the variety and pace of project-based accounting: tracking work as it moves from in-progress to invoiced, keeping close tabs on client accounts, and helping the finance team close the books accurately every month.

The Role

We're expanding our finance team and looking to bring on someone who thrives on precision and structure. The right person will have spent time in a client-based, engagement-driven setting - public accounting, consulting, legal, or engineering - and understands how billable work, project tracking, and revenue timing all tie together. Comfort working inside a modern ERP system day-to-day is essential.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- Record and process journal entries while supporting the monthly and annual close cycle, including account reconciliations

- Keep the general ledger current and accurate inside the company's ERP software, correcting discrepancies as they surface

- Support the client invoicing cycle by analyzing work-in-progress balances and monitoring revenue that has not yet been billed

- Handle incoming and outgoing payment transactions - both payables and receivables - inside the ERP software

- Help track employee hours and utilization metrics as they relate to individual client projects

- Contribute to revenue recognition efforts, following established GAAP standards and internal accounting policy

- Build out balance sheet reconciliations along with the schedules that support them

- Help produce internal reporting packages and financial statements by pulling data through the ERP system's built-in reporting features

- Contribute to the annual budgeting process, forecasting efforts, and analysis of budget-to-actual variances

- Pull documentation and respond to information requests during external audit engagements

- Follow internal control procedures, company policy, and relevant regulatory requirements in day-to-day work

- Help with periodic sales and use tax submissions along with other regulatory filings as they come up

- Support data accuracy across the ERP platform, from the chart of accounts to vendor and client records to approval workflows

- Get involved in ERP upgrades, system integrations, and other process-improvement projects when they come up

- Flag ways the accounting team could work more efficiently and suggest process changes

Skills & Qualifications

- A bachelor's-level education focused on accounting, finance, or a closely related area of study

- Two to four years in an accounting role, ideally inside a client-based business such as a CPA firm, law practice, consulting shop, or engineering company

- Direct, hands-on time inside an ERP platform - Workday, SAP, Deltek, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage Intacct, Net Suite, or a comparable system; prior exposure to project-accounting or resource-management modules built for engagement-based businesses is a strong plus

- Familiarity with how work-in-progress accounting, client invoicing cycles, and the time-and-expense process all fit together is a nice-to-have

- Comfortable in Excel, including building pivot tables, using lookup formulas, and putting together financial models

- A working command of GAAP and the fundamentals of accrual-based accounting

- Background closing the books inside an ERP environment, including reconciliations the system generates automatically

- A sharp eye for detail paired with solid organizational habits

- Comfortable juggling several open items at once and hitting deadlines even when things move quickly

- Clear, confident communicator, both in writing and in conversation

- Working toward a CPA credential is welcomed, though it is not a requirement for this seat

Why This Role Stands Out

- Newly added seat on a growing finance team with real room to build institutional knowledge

- Exposure to full-cycle, project-based accounting - a great foundation for a long-term accounting career

- Onsite training period followed by an ongoing hybrid schedule

- Base pay in the $62,500 - $70,000 range, plus a full benefits package (401(k) match, medical/dental/vision coverage, generous PTO, and CPA exam assistance)

- Room to grow inside a stable, well-established organization
