The City of Conway is accepting applications for a Permits Technician to providea high levelof administrative and operational support to the Permits & Inspections Department. This position serves as the primary public contact for the department and coordinates buildingpermitactivities for theCity. As the first point of contact for visitors to the Permits & Inspections office, this position plays a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive experience for citizens, contractors, developers, and other visitors.
Requirements- Provide administrative support to the Director and Permits & Inspections Department.
- Independently manage multiple tasks and priorities whilemaintainingefficient administrative processes.
- Process payment requests, accept fees for permits and inspections, receive and reconcile payments, and perform related administrative duties.
- Coordinate reviews and inspections for building permits.
- Learn and use the City’s permitting software to track permits, perform analysis, and generate reports.
- Possess exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. This position is stationed at the front reception area of City Hall and serves as the primary point of contact for the Permits & Inspections Department.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Work independently while managing multiple responsibilities in a team-oriented environment.
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
- Demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and a business-appropriate appearance.
- Maintain regular and dependable attendance.
- Occasionally work flexible hours depending on departmental schedules or operational needs.
- Three (3) years of related experience or training, with a bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
A background investigation will be conducted before employment can begin.
