Job GoalThe Preschool Lead Teacher will endeavor to teach and educate students according to standards for the state of Arkansas, as promulgated by the Arkansas Department of Education or other accrediting body. The Preschool Lead Teacher will teach the adopted curriculum developed and implemented by the Conway Public Schools, working always to provide the richest educational experience possible. The Preschool Lead Teacher will also strive to teach and educate students according to the educational needs, abilities, and attainment potential of individual students entrusted to their care by the District.
PerformanceResponsibilities
- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Plans, prepares, and delivers lessons consistent to and aligned with District curricula.
- Possesses and deploys various instructional strategies in order to meet different learning styles as well as specific needs of students.
- Stays abreast of changes in standards, curriculum documents, resources, and trends in education.
- Appropriately utilizes and integrates student use of technology in the classroom.
- Assesses, records, and reports the development, progress, attainment, and behavior of all students.
- Embraces an attitude of being a continual learner, facilitator of learning, and a reflective practitioner.
- Utilizes effective classroom management techniques to provide a safe learning environment for all students.
- Communicates regularly with parents and/or guardians about student progress, behavior, or needs.
- Is an active participant in collaborative planning, intervention, conferences, meetings, and assistance teams both at the building- and District-level, when appropriate.
- Uses a variety of assessment tools to assess and gauge student progress, identify student needs, and extend learning.
- Maintains proper and correct records and all timelines according to District, state, and federal requirements in regard to student grades, attendance, and Individual Education Plan progress, if applicable.
- Ensures fairness and impartiality in all matters relating to students.
- Provides supervision for students at all times when students are assigned or entrusted to their care.
- Engages in professional development to strengthen personal practice.
- Develops and maintains professional and collegial relationships.
