LocationWoodrow Cummins Elementary, Conway Public School District
Terms of EmploymentContract length will be 190 days.
Salary schedule will be A & J.
EvaluationBased on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, performed by the building-level principal assisted by the assistant principal.
Job GoalThe classroom teacher will endeavor to teach and educate students according to standards for the state of Arkansas as promulgated by the Arkansas Department of Education or other accrediting body. The teacher will also strive to meet individual educational needs, abilities, and attainment potential of students entrusted to the district.
Performance Responsibilities- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Plans, prepares, and delivers lessons consistent with and aligned to District curricula.
- Deploys instructional strategies to meet different learning styles and specific student needs.
- Stays abreast of changes in standards, curriculum documents, resources, and trends.
- Integrates technology appropriately in the classroom.
- Assesses, records, and reports student progress, attainment, and behavior.
- Embodies continuous learning, facilitation, and reflective practice.
- Uses effective classroom management techniques to provide a safe learning environment.
- Communicates regularly with parents or guardians about student progress.
- Actively participates in collaborative planning, intervention teams, conferences, meetings at building and district levels.
- Utilizes a variety of assessment tools to gauge student progress and identify needs.
- Maintains proper records and meets timelines for grades, attendance, and IEP progress.
- Ensures fairness and impartiality in all student-related matters.
- Provides supervision for students at all times when assigned or entrusted with care.
- Engages in professional development to strengthen practice.
- Develops and maintains professional and collegial relationships.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Licensure:
Standard teaching license in the appropriate area, grade, or content area. - Accepted into an Alternative Licensure Program through DESE.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with grade level, school, and district teams.
