High School Math Teacher – Arkansas Virtual Academy (ARVA)
Location:
Remote (preferred Arkansas residents)
Start Date:
School Year 2026/27
- Deliver synchronous and asynchronous math instruction to high‑school students in an online environment.
- Personalize learning for all students, differentiating instruction based on mastery levels.
- Augment course content in line with prescribed policies and procedures, using appropriate tools under guidance from principal and coach.
- Maintain grade book, ensure academic integrity, make placement and promotion decisions, and alert administrators to performance concerns.
- Prepare students for high‑stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families; communicate regularly and respond to students, learning coaches, and parents in a timely manner.
- Provide support to learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues, and basic troubleshooting in the virtual classroom aligned with academy policies.
- Travel as required (approximately once per month and/or 20% of the time) for face‑to‑face professional development, student testing, and other school functions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Active Arkansas state teaching license.
- Clear required background check.
- Experience teaching high‑school math to adults and children in virtual or brick‑and‑mortar settings.
- Experience with online learning platforms and technology use.
- Collaborative ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data to drive instructional decisions.
- Receptive to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Rapid learner of new technologies and teaching platforms.
- Ongoing maintenance of certification, professional development hours, and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
Compensation is determined by education, experience, qualifications, location, expected work quality, required travel, market factors, and internal value. Salaries typically fall within the lower half of the applicable range. Benefits include a comprehensive package (details provided during the hiring process).
