Position Summary
The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) is seeking a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor (9‑month appointment) to join the School of Nursing. This on‑campus role is designed for a doctorally prepared nurse educator who will shape the next generation of nursing professionals. The successful candidate will lead innovative educational programs, conduct scholarly research, and contribute to a supportive, inclusive academic environment.
Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis tenure‑track position focuses on teaching, curriculum development, assessment and evaluation, collaboration and mentorship. The faculty member will facilitate student learning, engage in research and scholarship, focus on continuous professional development, and provide institutional, professional and community service.

As a tenure‑track faculty, you will translate intricate clinical data into digestible, evidence‑based instruction. You will ground your teaching in the current realities of healthcare policy and ethics, ensuring students are equipped to navigate the systemic challenges of modern healthcare.

Education and Experience
The candidate must have:
- Doctoral degree (PhD in Nursing or DNP from a nationally accredited institution).
- Current unencumbered RN license.
- Significant clinical experience in nursing practice.
- Prior experience teaching nursing students at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, with a strong understanding of pedagogical principles and instructional methodologies.
- Candidates who are ABD or who have 3 or less semesters left to complete the doctoral degree will be considered.
- All clinical requirements mandated by the clinical agencies used for student clinical experiences, including MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap, TB, Influenza vaccine, and current CPR certification BLS.
Education and Experience
- PhD in Nursing with evidence of research and scholarly productivity.
- Educational preparation as a nurse educator or experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- Experience with learning management systems and/or online teaching at the baccalaureate or higher degree.
