Qualifications- Principal licensure
- Administrative experience - minimum 5 years preferred
- Teaching experience
Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
SupervisesAssistant principals, teachers, and classified staff assigned to principal's building
Terms Of EmploymentElementary principal - The contract length will be 220 days. The salary schedule will be A & J.
EvaluationBased on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.
Job GoalPrincipals in the Conway Public Schools will ensure quality instruction and create a safe learning environment that fosters continual growth for staff and students. To build a system of collaboration among staff.
Performance Responsibilities- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Leadership
- Nurtures and sustains a culture of collaboration, trust, learning, and high expectations.
- Creates a personalized and motivating learning environment for students.
- Supervises instruction.
- Develops the instructional and leadership capacity of staff.
- Maximizes time spent on quality instruction.
- Monitors and evaluates the impact of instructional programs.
- Collects, uses, and analyzes data to identify goals, assess organizational effectiveness, and promote organizational learning.
- Administrative
- Directs, observes, and evaluates work of personnel assigned to their school and provides actionable feedback.
- Coordinates activities of their school with activities of other schools in the system.
- Obtains, allocates, aligns, and utilizes efficiently human, fiscal, and technological resources equitably.
- Secures necessary substitutes for school personnel.
- Interviews and recommends staff.
- Management
- Monitors and evaluates the management and operational systems.
- Promotes and protects the welfare and safety of students and staff.
- Ensures teacher and organizational time is focused to support quality instruction and student learning.
- Public Relations
- Promotes understanding, appreciation, and use of the community's diverse cultural, social, and intellectual resources.
- Builds and sustains positive relationships with families and caregivers.
- Builds and sustains productive relationships with community partners.
- Safeguards the values of democracy, equity, and diversity.
- Legal
- Considers and evaluates the potential moral and legal consequences of decision‑making.
- Promotes social justice and ensures that individual student needs inform all aspects of schools.
- Other duties, as assigned.
