Electric Systems Engineer 2 (Sales)

BASIC FUNCTION:
Assist in planning, design, and engineering studies; coordinate engineering work activities internally and externally; advise staff on distribution, transmission, and substation systems; and conduct special studies as needed.

Representative Responsibilities

Direct preliminary and detailed planning for construction projects; establishing priorities; providing guidance and direction on technical aspects of work.

Coordinate engineering work activities within and outside the utility, including long‑range planning studies and planning for construction projects.

Provide technical support for system personnel with respect to system design, replacement, and repairs.

Develop and maintain a computerized electric model of the complete distribution system; perform routine electrical analyses and long‑range planning studies; and make recommendations regarding conductor sizing, substation size and location, transformer size and location, and developer participation.

Review and evaluate current system data and trends.

Manage long‑range planning activities of both internal projects and consultants, including studies of service expansion requirements and their associated impact.

Facilitate the development of capital improvement plan (CIP); assist with future growth studies, rate evaluation, and annual budget requirements.

Coordinate processes through various governmental agencies concerning utility facilities.

Represent the Company through business meetings with regulatory agencies, contractors, customers, and intradepartmental meetings.
