Electric Systems Engineer 2 (Sales)

BASIC FUNCTION:
Assist in planning, design, and engineering studies; coordinate engineering work activities internally and externally; advise staff on distribution, transmission, and substation systems; and conduct special studies as needed.

• Direct preliminary and detailed planning for construction projects; establishing priorities; providing guidance and direction on technical aspects of work.
• Coordinate engineering work activities within and outside the utility, including long‑range planning studies and planning for construction projects.
• Provide technical support for system personnel with respect to system design, replacement, and repairs.
• Develop and maintain a computerized electric model of the complete distribution system; perform routine electrical analyses and long‑range planning studies; and make recommendations regarding conductor sizing, substation size and location, transformer size and location, and developer participation.
• Review and evaluate current system data and trends.
• Manage long‑range planning activities of both internal projects and consultants, including studies of service expansion requirements and their associated impact.
• Facilitate the development of capital improvement plan (CIP); assist with future growth studies, rate evaluation, and annual budget requirements.
• Coordinate processes through various governmental agencies concerning utility facilities.
• Represent the Company through business meetings with regulatory agencies, contractors, customers, and intradepartmental meetings.
