Summary:

Drafting Detailer will prepare shop and field drawings per job specifications in adherence with the latest industrial standards including but not limited to: AISC, AWS, ASTM. The Drafting Detailer will function independently with minimal supervision and is expected to submit work that is complete, accurate, and timely.

Typical Duties:

• Proficiency in CAD as well as knowledge of Excel, Adobe, and general computer skills.
• Responsible for preparation of drafting support for assigned projects.
• Having a sense of deadline and critical path in all work. Conforming to a schedule.
• Willingness to make the extra effort to meet deadlines.
• Team player with ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Familiarity with reading both architectural and structural drawings.
• Familiarity with building codes.
• Willingness and ability to make site visits and create existing condition plans.
• Create 2-d and 3-d models and fabrication drawings for pre-fabricated metal structures in Auto Cad and Inventor software.
• This job is safety sensitive for medical marijuana purposes.
• All other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management or the following experience level.
• 2-year Technical Degree is ideal, but not mandatory.
• 2+ years of relevant Structural drafting experience required.
• AutoCAD and Inventor proficiency.
• Able to read and interpret Architectural, mechanical, and Structural drawings.
• 3-5 years CAD and detailing experience (3D).
• Strong ethical values, high safety expectations, and a teamwork attitude.

• Be self-motivated, possess superior written and oral communication skills, and be comfortable working both solo and on team assignments.
• Overnight travel will be necessary from time to time. One night a week is common.
• Welding, fabrication, pipe fitting, duct installation, machine shop, plumbing, iron works, or other related fields.
• Understanding of basic mechanical, electrical, and functionality of manufacturing equipment.
• Computer skills:
  Excel, Word, and AutoCAD.

Physical demands:

• Ability to continuously sit, stand, or walk.
• Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift frequently.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work in heat or cold, work outside, work in high elevations.
• Good organizational skills.

Work environment:

• Office, cubicle, workstation, or job trailer.
