BASIC FUNCTION: Assist in the planning, drafting, surveying, and inspection of Telecommunication systems projects.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:- Review engineering data, designs, plans, and splice documents to develop computer-aided drawings and maps of physical features.
- Use survey equipment to gather and compile field information and inspect construction activities to ensure work is completed according to approved plans and specifications.
- Prepare detailed drawings, maps, and supporting documentation for electric and telecommunication systems distribution facilities.
- Monitor work in progress and prepare and process partial payment requests.
- Operate a variety of equipment, including computers, peripherals, and engineering software such as ESRI Arc Map, AutoCAD, and Crescent Link, as well as plotters, copiers, and other related office equipment.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree in electrical or electronic engineering technology, or a related technical field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. One to two years of related experience or training is preferred.
- Working knowledge of computer-aided design software and equipment used to prepare engineering drawings and specifications for construction projects preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, ESRI Arc Map or ArcGIS Pro, and Crescent Link.
- Experience with the design, construction, or deployment of fiber-optic networks, fiber-to-the-home networks, or other telecommunications networks is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents; write reports and correspondence.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
- Strong organizational skills and decision‑making ability.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply to practical situations.
- Possess a valid Arkansas Driver's License and meet the requirements of Conway Corporation’s insurance provider.
- Ability to work non‑standard hours as necessary.
- Ability to work in outside weather conditions of all types when required.
- Must live within a 30‑minute response time of the intersection of Harkrider and Oak Streets in Conway in case of an emergency or trouble.
