Customer Service Rep
Position Summary
The Front Desk Worker welcomes guests, explains programs and activities, reports and resolves complaints, and provides quality customer service by assisting patrons. The worker greets and interacts with members and guests as they enter and exit the facility, promotes and registers members for various programs, classes, and activities, and reports directly to the department Office Manager. This position is responsible for all point‑of‑sale operations.
Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversees access to the building, conducts debit/credit point‑of‑sale (POS) operations, and ensures recreational equipment is accounted for and ready for use. Provides customer service to patrons of the Thomas
C. Courtway Student Recreation Center (T‑Rec) and the Department of Campus Recreation and Wellness, ensuring all entrants are authorized or eligible. Provides information via telephone, conducts monetary transactions, enforces policies, assists with building cleanliness, and oversees the use of department equipment. Some manual labor is required during the setup of recreational events.
Must have thorough operational knowledge of the Department Campus Recreation and Wellness and its entities to provide information to inquiries. Must possess strong customer‑service skills—friendly personality, effective communication, ability to handle stressful situations—and must work in a fast‑paced environment. Must hold valid American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED certification and be a current student in good academic standing. Able to work weekends and during the normal hours of operation.
