SummaryFirst Security Bank seeks a professional, energetic, and team‑oriented Retail Banker to join our team and serve the Arkansas community. This position is on‑site.
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills- High school diploma or GED required upon graduation.
- 1‑2 years of post‑secondary education and/or cash handling, customer service, banking, or related experience preferred.
- Start as a Retail Banker with intent to promote to Retail Banking Specialist.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Word, typing, 10‑key, and internet usage required.
- Willingness to demonstrate Core 5 values with customers and coworkers.
Regularly scheduled hours per week: up to 29 hours.
- Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
- Friday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Saturday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm (typically 3 per month)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, cashier's checks, and cash checks, following policies and procedures. Examine checks for availability and detect counterfeit currency. Refer customers to other services when needed.
- Visually review customer transactions and verify necessary information.
- Count and balance cash using retail platform; buy/sell currency from vault as needed; scan proof work through branch capture machine.
- Receive mortgage, consumer, and other loan payments.
- Promote bank services and products via cross‑selling or directing clients to appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to daily opening/closing procedures, security, and safety measures; lock cash drawers and safes in the vault upon closing.
- Maintain currency and coin supply per policy; manually count, verify, and strap currency; process coin sales to vault.
- Assist with night deposits, mail deposits, and ATM deposits as needed.
- Complete CTR and SIRF reports; notify Bank Secrecy Act Officer on suspicious activity.
- Inform managers of activities and issues exceeding $50.00; assist in resolving outages and discrepancies.
- Assist internal customers and executive management as requested.
- Complete special requests such as redeeming savings bonds, closing accounts, ordering checks, exchanging foreign currency, and safe‑deposit box procedures.
- Balance ATM and main cash vault as needed.
- Provide quality service through phone and in‑person inquiries, handling unusual transactions and difficult customer inquiries.
- Identify fraudulent transactions and review concerns with management.
- Obtain training and become proficient in wire transfers.
- Adhere to strict privacy regarding customer information.
- Operate computer software, telephone, scanner, copier; become proficient with internal bank software.
- Hold valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willing to extend hours if necessary.
- Attend assigned retail training classes.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
- Build consumer and business customer profiles as needed.
- Process debit cards upon request.
- Assist customers with name/address changes, account maintenance, reconciliations, or complaints.
- Update identification.
- Open/close accounts.
- Handle debit card disputes.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
