Position Description

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Estimating, the Accounting Manager is a key position in a small but dynamic and integrated finance team. As a self-motivated individual living in or within commuting distance of our office, you have efficient communication skills and enjoy being a team player focused on attention to detail. You are comfortable with and able to work well in a deadline-oriented environment, including the ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with a wide range of both finance and accounting processes, with a primary focus on the day-to-day accounting and financial management of projects.
Responsibilities- Manage all financial and accounting activities for the plant.
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the local Accounting/Finance department.
- Prepare annual forecasts and budgets.
- Monitor, analyze, and report monthly actual results against the budget.
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain the company's WIP schedule.
- Manage monthly closing process including account reconciliations, account analysis, preparation of monthly financial statements and other management reports.
- Interface with internal and external auditors on SOX compliance and documentation.
- Develop inventory management procedures with the operations team.
- Cash management and reporting.
- Monitor / analyze production costs and communicate areas for improvement to management.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in management
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting. Manufacturing or construction experience is preferred
- CPA license is preferred but not a requirement
- Proactive, excellent attention to detail, and strong analytical/problem solving skills
- Experience with SAP is a plus
- Experience with project tracking IT systems
- SOX exposure is an asset
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to adapt to system or procedural changes as they come up
- The salary for this position is $95,000 - $105,000 USD. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
