How you make a differenceThe Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) manages and supervises the nursing staff and operations, ensuring patients receive appropriate care. They collaborate with the Director of Nursing and other team members to implement policies and maintain compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise nursing staff, including performance reviews, hiring, and disciplinary action.
- Evaluate patient care quality and implement improvement initiatives, collaborating with Nurse Managers and the DON.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organization policies and procedures.
- Participate in policy and procedure development and hospital-wide employee orientations.
- Provide professional nursing care as needed to respond to workload demands or staffing shortages.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
- Three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting with an additional two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Two (2) years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working exclusively with individuals diagnosed with mental illness or multiple disabilities.
- Regulatory agency knowledge including The Joint Commission, DHSS, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment.
