- A Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, organising, and administering care within the scope of her or his training and expertise, collaborating with other disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery, and achieving desired patient outcomes, in accordance with the hospital objectives and the Nurse Practice Act of Arkansas.
- A Labor and Delivery Nurse provides nursing care to women and their infants before, during, and after birth. She assists the physician with all aspects of pregnancy and birth, assists surgeons during cesarean sections, and cares for women who experience complications. The role focuses on assessing the patient, developing a plan of care that meets physical, psychological, educational/health literacy, sociocultural, and spiritual needs.
- The Labor and Delivery nurse must be meticulous, detail‑oriented, caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable about all aspects of pregnancy, labor, birth, post‑pregnancy care, complications, and treatments.
- New RN graduate from an accredited nursing program or a Registered Nurse in good standing, licensed in Arkansas. BSN preferred.
- Ability to apply basic knowledge and skills to meet standard of care and to practice as a full partner of an interdisciplinary team.
- Healthcare CPR required; some areas may require ACLS, PALS, and/or NALS – training provided.
- Specialty units will provide specific education.
This job will be authorized 72 hours bi‑weekly.
