We are seeking a skilled and dependable Service Technician to join our client's team in Conway, AR. This Service Technician role is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience who enjoys both hands-on work and customer interaction. The Service Technician will support distributors and end users by diagnosing, repairing, installing, and inspecting industrial metal cutting saws, both in-house and in the field.
This is a safety-sensitive position due to the operation of heavy equipment.
The ideal candidate for this Service Technician position is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working independently while also contributing to a team environment. This role involves travel, technical problem-solving, and ensuring that all machinery meets quality standards before shipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Provide technical support to distributors and end users both over the phone and in person
- Travel to customer sites to repair and install industrial equipment
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Perform final inspections on completed machines prior to shipment
- Document service activities and update issues in the company service database
- Operate heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and electric pallet jacks
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist in training new employees as needed
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a mechanical or technical field
- Experience as a millwright or automotive technician preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to read and understand technical documents and schematics
- Basic computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers and team members
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
