Job SummaryWe are hiring a Network Cabling Technician with strong experience in structured cabling for commercial and government environments. This full-time, travel-based position involves nationwide deployments at secure and commercial sites, supporting physical network infrastructure builds. The ideal candidate is hands-on, familiar with industry standards (BICSI, TIA/EIA), and capable of independent field execution.
Applicants must be able to pass federal background screening (ability to obtain a TS Clearance is a plus)
Key Responsibilities- Install, terminate, label, and test copper (CAT6/6A) and fiber optic cabling.
- Mount and connect network hardware: patch panels, racks, switches, WAPs, and wireless controllers.
- Interpret and follow construction drawings, network diagrams, and cable schedules.
- Adhere to BICSI, TIA/EIA, and job-specific standards for routing, bundling, and dressing cables.
- Complete and maintain daily job logs, as-builts, and testing documentation.
- Follow all safety protocols and perform work in compliance with site-specific requirements.
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday typical, with occasional overtime depending on job site demands. - Per Diem:
Provided for meals and lodging while on travel. - Equipment:
Tools and PPE provided; travel expenses reimbursed.
- 2+ years’ experience in structured cabling/low-voltage installation.
- Familiarity with BICSI standards and TIA/EIA practices.
- Competency in terminating and testing copper (RJ45).
- Experience installing network devices (APs, switches, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, wiring diagrams, and rack elevations.
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in ceiling or confined areas.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screening.
- Willingness to undergo background screening in accordance with DND’s hiring policy.
- BICSI Installer Level 1 or 2 certification.
- OSHA 10 or 30.
- Familiarity with federal security site protocols.
- Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Leviton, Comm Scope, Panduit, Corning).
