Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic

Join the team! Mid-Michigan Equipment Corporation is now hiring a Heavy-Duty Mechanic. Applicants need certifications from the State of Michigan for servicing semi-trucks and trailer equipment.

• Repairs, maintains, and services semi-trucks, trailers, fuel, and chemical transport tanks
• Diagnoses equipment problems and suggests the needed repairs
• Performs safety and maintenance checks including Federal Annual Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). all preventative maintenance to equipment per manufacturer and DOT specifications

• Must be a certified heavy-duty mechanic by the State of Michigan
• 2-3 years of heavy-duty mechanic experience servicing semi-trucks and trailer equipment preferred
• Tank testing (HM232) experience a plus
• Must have own tools to perform daily job tasks
• Experience working on a variety of equipment types
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting a variety of systems including but not limited to heavy-duty fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, air-brake systems, and safety systems
• Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting drive train and suspension systems

• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Knowledge of truck and equipment safety
• Ability to use a computer for diagnosing equipment problems and keeping accurate records
