Position: AIRCRAFT WIRING HARNESS TECHNICIAN

Job Summary

The Aircraft Wiring Harness Technician I is responsible for performing fundamental wire routing and installation activities within aircraft structures. This role focuses on the proper installation of wiring harnesses in accordance with engineering drawings, work orders, and applicable aviation standards. The incumbent operates in a structured environment with close oversight and is expected to build foundational knowledge and skills in aerospace wiring practices while ensuring adherence to quality and safety requirements.

Job Summary

This role focuses on the proper installation of wiring harnesses in accordance with engineering drawings, work orders, and applicable aviation standards. The incumbent operates in a structured environment with close oversight and is expected to build foundational knowledge and skills in aerospace wiring practices while ensuring adherence to quality and safety requirements.

Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have at least (6 months) of aircraft manufacturing experience or related mechanical experience or can be substituted for with one (1) year of A&P Vocational School.
  • Able to work from drawings, sketches, pictures, or verbal specifications.
  • Must be able to use calibrated tools, measuring devices, and set up and operate standard shop equipment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Must be able to pass a vision test including color blindness.
Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Experience applying adhesive materials.
  • Experience with electrical diagram material shaping and forming.
  • Experience using air tools and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control practices.
Working Conditions

Work location for this position is mainly in a climate-controlled hangar with occasional outside work.

  • Able to enter or exit aircraft work stands in a safe manner.
  • Able to work from adjustable height stands in a safe manner and be able to climb steps to approximately 25 feet in height, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and awkward positions within aircraft structures.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities (essential Functions)
  • Must ensure that the ability for the aircraft to become energized by any power source has been eliminated
  • Routes, secures, and verifies wiring harnesses, bundles, and cables through aircraft structures in accordance with engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation instructions.
  • Installs and secures harness support hardware, including ties, clamps, grommets, conduits, and tie wraps, while ensuring protection of aircraft components.
  • Sets up and operates standard shop equipment to support installation activities.
  • Completes assigned work within prescribed time frames while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Identifies and reports non-conformances, damaged components, or installation discrepancies, and documents all work, deviations, and corrective actions in production systems and planning logs.
  • Accurately documents all work performed in production and planning logs and required computerized systems.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment, controls FOD, and adheres to OSHA and company safety procedures at all times.
  • Supports senior technicians during complex installations and collaborates effectively within the team.
  • Practices continuous improvement efforts and proposes process improvements.
Non-principal Duties/Responsibilities (non-essential Functions)
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position because it includes as part of the essential job duties operating equipment and tools on a routine basis. Additionally, the duties of this position concern the service and completion of aircraft, and overall airworthiness of the aircraft. This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death.

For the safety of this employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while performing safety activities.

Compensation And Benefits

The compensation for this position typically falls between $22.00 and $29.00 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
