Job Summary
Provide general oversight and responsibility for equipment and personnel within the assigned building. The role focuses on promoting efficiency in all aspects of the building, including uptime, labor hours, repairs, and preventive maintenance (PM) completion. Performance is tracked and evaluated against enterprise and national benchmarks, following standard operating procedures and meeting quality standards.
Responsibilities- Perform routine and preventive electrical maintenance on commercial laundry machinery, conveyor systems, pumps, and associated mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in three-phase power systems and control circuits to minimize equipment downtime.
- Inspect, replace, and maintain gaskets and other mechanical components to ensure optimal machine performance and safety.
- Climb ladders and access elevated equipment safely to conduct inspections, repairs, and installations as required.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance activities and respond promptly to emergency repair needs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report on equipment status, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements while performing maintenance tasks.
- Work overtime as needed to support continuous manufacturing operations and meet production deadlines.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Meet or exceed plant uptime goal of 98%.
- Maintain building call response time of 2 minutes or less.
- Actively patrol assigned building to proactively address equipment issues.
- Report all major issues to Chief Engineer and Production Manager, assisting with resolution.
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship between building maintenance crew and production team.
- Completion of tasks at 100%.
- Follow all company safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Work well with a diverse workforce.
- Possess and maintain a positive attitude.
- Be able to work past the schedule as issues may arise.
- Physically demanding position; lifting and moving objects heavier than 50 lbs can be expected regularly.
- Ability to walk and stand for the entire shift is necessary, especially as the plant environment may be warm during certain times of the year.
- Work schedule is5am to 1:30pm
The Maintenance Mechanic utilizes their electrical maintenance skills daily to troubleshoot and repair complex three-phase electrical systems and motor controls, ensuring machinery operates without interruption.
Knowledge of commercial laundry equipment and conveyor systems allows the mechanic to perform targeted maintenance that reduces downtime and extends equipment life.
Mechanical aptitude is essential for tasks such as gasket replacement and pump maintenance, requiring precision and attention to detail.
The ability to safely climb ladders and work at heights enables access to all necessary equipment for inspection and repair.
Additionally, strong communication and teamwork skills facilitate effective collaboration with production and engineering teams to prioritize maintenance activities and respond swiftly to operational challenges.
