Conway Medical Center is seeking a dynamic Provider for our Digestive Health service line. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Digestive Health in our community by leading a well-established program into its next phase of growth. The Physician will integrate into an important role in providing world class patient care, expanding clinical services, and elevating patient-centered care across the service line.
The Digestive Health APP will manage patients from initial consultation through diagnosis and treatment. The role involves collaboration & access to physicians that perform advanced technologies such as the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System for minimally invasive gastroenterology surgeries, 180 & 190 HD scopes and complex cases requiring enhanced precision.
Candidate ParametersOpen to experienced and in-training NP and/or PA will be considered, both American and international graduates, are considered.
SCOPE OF PRACTICE + PATIENT VOLUMES- Primarily handling all outpatient needs collaboration with on call physician, Team Health Hospitalist, CMC Employed Emergency Department team and the acute care team (surgeons and intensivist - as/if needed per physicians direction)
- Average Patient Volume:20+ patients per day in clinic
- Consults and rounding done by the physician on call.
- Physicians are performing 7000 cases per year in the endoscopy area w/ 180 and 190 HD scopes + brand new C-Arms
- Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy
- Service line offers:
- EUS and ERCP - Endoscopic
- NEW!! Capsule Endoscopy
- Treatment of Diseases of the Gastrointestinal Tract including:
Liver Disease, Gallbladder Disease, Pancreas Disease - 220 bed level 3 trauma center intaking 60k+ emergency department visits annually
- Daily census is 150+
- CMC Digestive Clinic is located on the 2nd floor of the medical arts building that is directly connected to the main hospital.
- Only covering 1 hospital
- 18-24 bed closed ICU/CCU (3rd floor - 16-18 beds historically have been used as capacity)
- Main Campus:
Currently 4 procedure rooms and 8 holding rooms (pre and post operative area) - Single-site setup: ASC, clinic, and hospital integrated for efficiency
- Imaging/Diagnostics: PET scanning, 64-slice CT, 3-D mammography, breast MRI, high‑definition endoscopy/bronchoscopy
- Tumor Boards:
Bi‑weekly for breast, PCC, GI, and ENT - Surgical Referrals:
Includes breast, colorectal, and vascular;
Bone marrow transplants referred to Charleston (MUSC or Roper St Francis)
