Job Details
As a Fab Lab Assistant, you will become a rapid prototyping expert, familiar with all of our supported hardware and software. After learning the basics, you will develop technical expertise over time based on your strengths and interests.
Most of your time will be spent teaching others about our supported hardware and software, providing guidance on students’ personal projects, and occasionally leading student training on basic operation of machines and software while upholding safety procedures.
The position offers insight and guidance on student projects and involves designing and manufacturing demo projects to demonstrate software/hardware capabilities. Training incoming students on safety and proper use of equipment is also required.
- Teach and support student use of Fab Lab equipment and software.
- Lead training sessions on machine operation and safety.
- Design and manufacture demo projects.
- Provide guidance to Edwards College students, faculty, and staff.
- Perform additional departmental duties as needed.
- Competent with all Fab Lab equipment and specialized tasks.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be a current CCU student.
- Prepared to commit to a multi‑semester assignment; occasional weekend hours possible.
