American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring prior travel experience and a SC or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active RN license (SC or compact) required
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and FHM certifications required
- AWHONN Beginner or Intermediate certification required, AWHONN Advanced preferred
- 5 years of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Skilled in labor and delivery management, including amnioinfusion, vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and hemorrhage/shock management
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
- Experience with fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and use of external and internal fetal monitoring
- Labor and Delivery unit with Antepartum, Level I Nursery, and Mother/Baby coverage
- Facility averages 100-200 births per month
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
- 1:2 patient ratios
- Uses Cerner EMR
- May float within the hospital, not to nearby affiliate facilities
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
- Administer medications such as antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, pitocin, prostaglandins, and terbutaline
- Support postpartum recovery including cesarean section care, couplet care, and breastfeeding/lactation support
- Assist with pain management including epidural anesthesia, nitrous oxide, and PCA use
- Perform newborn assessments and neonatal care in the delivery room, including cord sample collection and /security banding
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Previously employed staff must have a break in service of at least one year before returning
