Essential Job Functions
- Accurately enter traffic citations, city ordinance violations and court dispositions into court management software.
- Ensure proper processing and timely distribution of court documents to appropriate agencies and departments
- Attend all Municipal Court sessions, including those held at the jail, as required
- Receive, sort and process incoming mail, including attorney correspondence and payments for fines.
- Prepare and file Failure to Appear (AFT) warrants accurately, including document copying and record-keeping
- Receive and process court fine and probation payments in person and via web-based systems
- Maintain and update the jail tracking spreadsheet daily, including booking and release data.
- Validate active GCIC warrants on behalf of the City of Conyers with accuracy and attention to detail
- Provide assistance to the public at the front counter and over the phone regarding court related inquiries and procedures
- Coordinate with other departments, including the probation office, law enforcement and legal representatives, to ensure accurate case handling and information flow.
Completion of a standard high school diploma, GED or equivalent from a regionally or nationally accredited school. Will accept a combination of education and experience.
A minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of general clerical experience, preferably within a Municipal Court setting.
Valid Georgia Driver's License.
Municipal Court Clerk certification is preferred but not required.
