Overview
As an Experienced Auto Glass Technician, you will serve on the front line of the Safelite customer experience. You’ll bring advanced technical expertise and a strong sense of ownership to every job, in fast-paced, hands-on environments, delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional service. You will perform complex repairs, replacements, and recalibrations—both in-shop and through our Mobile Glass Shop services—with Safelite’s tools, training, and technology.
Responsibilities- Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at a Safelite Shop or Mobile Glass Shop in the most efficient manner, focusing on safety, quality, and customer service.
- Clean customer vehicles after every job.
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
- Operate Safelite’s tools and technologies (e.g., True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System, related chemicals, work orders, customer administration systems, and Safelite’s Mobile Resource Management technology).
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
- Communicate with customers in person, by text, and by phone; present, promote, and sell Safelite promotional items and services where appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with company policies and standards.
- Education/
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED; preferred 2+ years of proven Auto Glass Technician experience. - Licenses:
Valid state-issued driver’s license (and any other licenses as required by law). - Certifications:
Safelite Safe Tech™ certification (required). - Skills and Abilities:
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally; ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist; proficient with hand and power tools; safe operation of a motor vehicle; ability to work in various weather conditions; familiarity with Safelite diagnostic tools and ability to troubleshoot and recalibrate; strong problem-solving and communication skills;
ability to read, write, and interpret English; professional appearance and adherence to PPE policies; ability to work flexible schedules and maintain professionalism under pressure; willingness to be monitored via in-cab safety cameras or similar technologies as applicable.
- Competitive weekly pay; incentive for safety-focused items (e.g., $5 per set of wiper blades added for customer safety).
- Benefits package valued at more than $10k, including 401(k) with company matching, medical plans, paid time off, holidays and volunteer days, and opportunities to buy/sell PTO up to 16 hours.
- Up to $5,250 annually in tuition reimbursement; paid training and all necessary tools.
