Mechanical Project Manager
Job Description
As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will lead and consult with owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, vendors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders. You will be responsible for nurturing successful relationships to ensure project success and client satisfaction. You will manage the pre-construction, pre-planning, procurement, and construction project scheduling process.
Your role will involve leveraging strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project partners to support successful project execution and future business opportunities.
Responsibilities
+ Manage subcontractors to ensure project timelines, budgets, quality standards, and client expectations are met.
+ Take ownership and accountability for projects under your direction.
+ Solve complex problems relating to project schedules, manpower planning, budgets, procurement activities, and project execution.
+ Review and approve project budgets to determine the allocation of resources from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
+ Negotiate and create subcontractor contracts with external vendors to reach agreements beneficial to the project.
+ Manage project finances including profitability, forecasting, cash flow, productivity tracking, and cost controls.
+ Lead project teams and provide direction throughout all phases of project execution.
+ Be actively involved in design conflict identification and resolution.
+ Lead strategic planning and oversee project submittals, RFIs, procurement activities, and change order processes.
+ Implement monthly cost reports and accurate cost projections.
+ Identify, price, submit, track, and resubmit change orders as necessary.
+ Approve supplier and subcontractor invoices.
+ Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and quality standards while proactively identifying and resolving project issues.

+ Strong budgeting, forecasting, and cost control capabilities.
+ Ability to successfully manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
+ Train and mentor Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and junior staff on technical aspects of Project Management.
+ Professional solicitation of vendors and suppliers during the procurement process.
+ Strong understanding of project scheduling, procurement, contract administration, and change management.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or 10+ years of related experience and/or training.
+ Degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or similar highly preferred.
+ Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience with a Mechanical Contractor.
+ Direct Mechanical Piping experience required.
+ Mechanical Project Manager candidates should possess 8-15+ years of experience managing large-scale mechanical construction projects.
+ Experience managing large multi-million-dollar complex construction projects required.
+ Experience managing project financials, forecasting, procurement, subcontractors, and client relationships required.
+ Data Center and Healthcare project experience strongly preferred.
+ Experience supporting Mission-Critical projects is highly preferred.
+ Experience managing projects valued between $30M-$100M+ preferred.
+ Bluebeam and Procore experience.
+ Strong forecasting and financial ownership experience.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $85.00/hr.
