Shoal Creek Elementary School: MTSS - RTI Specialist (PART-TIME)
The MTSS/RTI Specialist supports student achievement and well-being through the implementation and coordination of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) framework. The specialist collaborates with teachers, administrators, school support staff, and families to identify student needs, implement evidence-based interventions, monitor progress, and ensure appropriate academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports are in place for all learners.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Coordinate and facilitate the school's MTSS/RTI process, ensuring timely identification and support of students requiring academic and behavioral interventions.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain student performance data from universal screenings, progress monitoring tools, assessments, attendance records, and behavioral data.
- Conduct regular data review meetings with teachers and intervention teams to determine student needs, evaluate intervention effectiveness, and make instructional recommendations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor tiered interventions (Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III) to support student growth and achievement.
- Provide coaching and support to teachers regarding intervention strategies, progress monitoring, differentiation, and data-driven instructional practices.
- Plan and deliver professional learning (PL) sessions related to data tracking, progress monitoring, MTSS implementation, intervention practices, and effective use of student performance data.
- Facilitate MTSS, Student Support Team (SST), and problem-solving team meetings, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with district and state requirements.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, intervention plans, and available support services.
- Lead and conduct meetings with parents/guardians to discuss intervention outcomes, eligibility concerns, and the process for obtaining parental consent for comprehensive evaluations when appropriate.
- Collaborate with special education staff, school psychologists, counselors, and administrators regarding referrals, evaluations, and support plans.
- Monitor fidelity of intervention implementation and provide feedback to staff to ensure effective practices.
- Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress monitoring data, meeting notes, and parent communications.
- Assist school leadership in developing systems that promote continuous improvement, student success, and equitable access to interventions and support services.
- Other duties as assigned to support the vision and mission of the district and school.
- Valid teaching certificate and/or educational leadership certification, as required by the district.
- Experience with MTSS/RTI processes, data analysis, and intervention planning.
- Knowledge of academic and behavioral interventions, progress monitoring tools, and special education referral procedures.
- Strong communication, collaboration, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze student data and use findings to drive instructional decision-making and student support planning.
