Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer supports operational excellence and manufacturing capability improvements within the Assembly Lines, Fabrication (sheet metal, tube/piping fabrication) and Electrical Panel Assembly areas. This role focuses on executing continuous improvement projects, maintaining existing processes, and supporting the implementation of Lean methodologies to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
What you will be responsible for in this role:Operational Excellence and Process Improvement
- Lean Execution:
Supports the deployment and sustainment of the company’s Operational Excellence (OpEx) model. Develops and implements detailed Standard Work (SW) documentation and visual aids in assigned production areas. - Continuous Improvement:
Participates in and executes tasks stemming from Kaizen events and rapid improvement projects to eliminate waste and optimize process flow. - Process Analysis:
Utilizes fundamental Lean and quality tools, including contributing to PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and applying Poka-Yoke (error-proofing) solutions to address manufacturing issues. - Capacity Support:
Assists in industrial engineering analysis, including gathering data for Line Balancing, Work Content Calculation, and supporting Headcount Calculation studies to support production planning.
- Project Support:
Provides technical support for capital projects and new equipment installation led by the Senior ME team. This includes gathering data, validating designs, and executing tasks related to commissioning, such as the Laser Booth or New Press implementation. - Automation Support:
Assists the Senior ME and Automation team in the execution phase of new automation and technology implementation, ensuring smooth process integration and training operators. - Layout and Process:
Supports the implementation of layout and process reconfigurations necessary for new product introductions or efficiency improvements, ensuring accurate documentation of changes.
- Problem Solving:
Applies structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., A3, 5 Why) to resolve production and quality issues under the guidance of senior team members. - Design Support:
Supports the Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews by gathering and providing manufacturing feedback to the Design Engineering teams to ensure new products can be efficiently built.
- Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of experience.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering role within a fast-pace production environment.
- Foundational knowledge of Electrical and/or Mechanical concepts.
- Experience in creating and maintaining Standard Work documentation.
- Practical experience applying fundamental Problem-Solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Why, A3).
- Proficiency in CAD is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio).
- Practical application experience with Lean tools (e.g., 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management).
- Execution Focus:
Strong drive to achieve results and complete tasks accurately and efficiently. - Teamwork:
Able to collaborate effectively with production associates, maintenance, and engineering peers. - Analytical:
Ability to collect data, analyze manufacturing processes, and propose solutions.
- Experience or strong understanding of Refrigeration components, systems, or manufacturing processes.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Yellow or Green Belt) is a strong advantage.
